Living books spark the imagination. Field studies make book work relevant. Sometimes parents and students are at a loss as to how to add field work to their studies, and this page may help! Sometimes, kids just need to be inspired. On this page, I list inspiring stories of real scientists who do real work in the field. Great picture books on classes of plants and animals, or earth science studies and astronomy or chemistry will follow the biographies. I will also include an occasional "unit study" on a plant or animal. The following resources are divided by discipline, with plenty of overlapping. (Did I miss any topic? Email me).
